Description

¡Un programa muy interesante! Your students will experience first-hand the fiery excitement of Spanish classical and flamenco music and dance and its remarkable influence on the entire western hemisphere. This fast-paced, bilingual program, conducted by professional flamenco dancers, explores the geography and history of Spain through Spanish sing-alongs and dance. Connects to Social Studies and P.E. Workshops (Up to 13): Students explore the customs, folklore and culture of Spain and its relationship to Texas and Mexico. Students meet a flamenco artist, learn to play the castanets, and perform authentic folk dances.

Duration: 45 minutes followed by up to thirteen 30-minute workshops in the classroom.
School Fee: $800 for up to 300 students

Technical Needs: Please designate a person in your school as the primary contact on the day of the program to facilitate artist needsStage area to be swept and cleared of all risers, desks, tables, etc. before artists arrival. Deadline: Minimum of three weeks prior to requested performance date.
Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
