Description
A gifted poet and storyteller, Rochel brings to vivid life the story of Nat Love, a slave born in Tennessee who went West at the age of fifteen to seek freedom and equal opportunity. On July 4, 1876, he earned the name Deadwood Dick by being the best cowboy in a competition. Dressed in cowboy attire of the period, Rochel brings to life one of the most prominent and trusted black cowboys of the era. Nat Love’s personal pursuit of freedom is recreated in a series of stories based on his autobiography.

Please designate a person in your school as the primary contact on the day of the program to facilitate artist needs Stage area to be swept and cleared of all risers, desks, tables, etc. before artists arrival. Off stage areas must be clear.

Cancellation Policy:
A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy:
A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
